Have you or a loved one been prescribed Actos® to treat your Type II- Diabetes?

After taking Actos, have you or a loved one experienced any of the following symptoms:
- Bladder cancer
- Abdominal pain
- Back pain
- Blood in urine
- Pain in urination
- Urination urgency
- Loss of appetite/weight
The Food and Drug Administration is now reviewing studies related to patients taking Actos® because all Thizolidinediones function in the same manner: They affect the body’s resistance to insulin, and they manipulate a patient’s cholesterol levels. The use of Actos®, Actoplus®, Actoplus met XT®, and duetact® can result in any of the above mentioned types of side effects.
A lawsuit against the makers of Actos® suggests that Actos® induces the same type of side effects as those that have long been associated with Avandia®. During the early warnings, many argued that Actos® was a safer alternative for treatment for Type-2 diabetes. Recently through emerging research, this has recently been proven to be faulty. Both Avandia® and Actos® are products of the same drug class.
A number of scientific studies have suggested that this medication may have increased the risk of bladder cancer.
